The Society was registered on 11th May, 1966 under the Travancore Cochin Literary, Scientific and Charitable Societies Registration Act, 1955 under the inspiring leadership of the late Metropolitan Most Rev. Dr. Juhanon Mar Thoma and the late Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Mathews Mar Athanasius. The first President of the Society was Bishop Rt. Rev. Dr. Alexander Mar Theophilus, afterwards the Valia Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Church. The present Patron is The Most Rev Dr Joseph Mar Thoma, Metropolitan of the Mar Thoma Church and the present President, Rt. Rev. Thomas Mar Timotheos Episcopa
